FELTED - 2024

Felted wool slippers designed to be made by you.

Available for use and download online, this project provides British wool producers with a accessible solution and support against the ongoing wool burning crisis.

Designed as a slipper that requires minimal industrial machinery, it celebrates the power of craftsmanship by inviting producers to re-purpose surplus wool using wet felting.

Inspired by the famous Lasso slipper, this felted shoe only requires wet felting surplus wool, a free downloadable pattern and a shoelace.

Using the ancient British technique of wet felting, strong textiles can be created at home, without  spinning or weaving. Saving wool producers the cost of processing and transforming the fibre.
This slipper pattern was designed to be printed on two A4 sheets of paper and is available in sizes UK 6-12.

Through the use of wet felting, the slipper can be customized depending on the wool that is being used. No pair would be alike, honouring the beautiful fibre diversity seen in British wool.
